Emerging Tech Commercial Applications Showcase: Four Benchmark Cases Revealed

2016/11/18 United Daily News report
In today\'s "experience is king" era, only premium experiences can win consumer spending. Across retail stores, commercial districts, and public services, operators are actively adopting emerging technologies to deliver beyond-expectation experiences. The Commerce Development Research Institute held the "Emerging Technology Commercial Service Applications Showcase" on November 17 at Taipei Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, providing cross-industry collaboration opportunities with replication and expansion effects benefiting both operators and consumers.

For example, at E-Da World, members can use the "E-Da EASY Buy" APP to participate in point collection and bonus activities directly on their phones, avoiding queues. The phone becomes a game controller for interactive missions to earn rewards.

Shen Geng Corporation introduced an electronic consumption system at Zhongke Shopping Plaza, where consumers simply connect to the mall\'s Wi-Fi for store information, latest deals, and personalized offers - enjoying dining, leisure, and shopping packages.

The Beitou Hot Spring District launched the "Hot Spring Witch GO" APP, enabling consumers to use smartphone AR navigation for quick access to district attractions and promotions. Downloading, sharing, or catching "Little Witches" within the district earns points; collect 177 points for one "Lucky 7 Draw" chance to potentially win a free night at a premium hot spring suite.

Kang Hsien International created the unmanned smart restaurant "NISORO Lohas" using digital self-service pickup, interactive displays, and mPos innovations. Consumers can order nutritious meals or sparkling fruit drinks via mPos, pay by credit card, and pick up orders in a spacious, comfortable dining environment with lifestyle information on LCD screens.

These four smart operation cases - whether identification, sales, contextual interaction, or navigation systems built on emerging technology - are the combined achievements of the Commerce Development Research Institute and operators under MOEA guidance. Consumers\'s "Wow!" reactions during actual experiences lead to enthusiastic sharing with friends, boosting foot traffic and serving as benchmark learning cases for the commercial service industry.

Operators and consumers interested in the stories of E-Da, Shen Geng, Sweetme Hot Spring, and Kang Hsien are welcome to seize this rare opportunity to create collaboration and drive new hardware/software business opportunities in Taiwan.
