2022 Taipei Lantern Festival in Shilin: Spanning Jiantan, Shilin & Zhishan - Three Lantern Zones!

The 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival launched in Shilin on February 11. This year's lantern zones span MRT Jiantan, Shilin, and Zhishan stations, shining brightly through February 20, a total of 10 days. In addition to three lantern zones featuring local characteristics, there are also numerous spectacular stage performances and celebrity lineups for you to enjoy. On February 6, the main visual was unveiled along with an exciting chef percussion show, bringing the perspective from Jiantan MRT Station to the food and night market games of Shilin Night Market, announcing that the well-known Shilin district will host the 2022 Taipei Lantern Festival!

The three themed lantern zones include: Jiantan Station Night Market Zone, Shilin Station Radiance Zone, and Zhishan Station Riverside Zone. The Jiantan Station Night Market Zone centers on "night market culture" and "art & technology," with lantern designs showcasing various aspects of night market culture, featuring interactive technology-driven lantern creations and innovative art installations. The Shilin Station Radiance Zone centers on "traditional old streets," with lantern designs presenting Shilin's traditional charm, combined with rainbow light corridors and tunnels of light, allowing visitors to stroll through a sea of lanterns and feel the festive atmosphere, with interactive lanterns to enhance the viewing experience. The Zhishan Station Riverside Zone centers on "natural ecology" and "children's wonderland," conveying the vitality of the Shuangxi Zhishan Rocks ecosystem. Meilun Park features a family lantern zone, and on weekends, the internationally renowned cartoon stars from "Bluey" - usually only seen on TV - will appear at the lantern festival, fulfilling the dreams of visitors young and old.
