Beitou inherited Japan's hot spring bathing culture, which has made Beitou's hot spring industry flourish, and yukata culture has also emerged alongside the prosperity of the hot spring business. Wearing Japanese-style yukata for hot spring bathing is a tradition passed down from the Japanese colonial era that continues to this day and has become an indispensable part of Beitou's hot spring culture. Thus, yukata and hot springs are inseparable like a community of shared destiny, and the existence of yukata adds brilliant color to Beitou's unique hot spring characteristics.

The 2024 Taipei Beitou Flower Yukata Festival - Flower Celebration leverages the public's love for photography through an online photography contest. We hope to combine the historically significant flower yukata with Beitou's landscapes, inviting photography masters from across the nation to participate. Participants may use any equipment and techniques, aiming to help more domestic and international tourists understand the deep connection between flower yukata and Beitou's hot spring culture.
To coincide with the "2024 Taipei Hot Spring Festival," this year's photography special session was held on October 5 at the "Beitou Hot Spring Museum." It happened to coincide with the 26th anniversary of the Beitou Hot Spring Museum, and through the "Open Hot Spring Museum" photography event, we hope to showcase the architectural features, rich collections, and the historical value of hot spring culture to Beitou residents and all of Taipei through the lens. We further hope this event can connect surrounding attractions to form a Beitou tourism network, shaping Beitou's unique tourism image and industry value.

We thank President Chou Shui-Mei of the Taiwan Commercial District Cultural Tourism Industry Federation, who also serves as Honorary Chairperson of the Taipei Hot Spring Development Association, Standing Supervisor Chang Pei-Ni of the Taipei Hot Spring Development Association, and city council members for their active support of Beitou's promotional activities. Distinguished guests at the event included Council Members Wang Chih-Ping, Lin Hsing-Er, Lin Yen-Feng, Hsu Shu-Hua, Yu Shu-Hui, and Lin Liang-Chun, who all served as special session models. The Beitou Yixian Elementary School PTA and students also participated, all dressed in beautiful flower yukata, showing great importance to the event. The venue at the Beitou Hot Spring Museum was instantly filled with vibrant colors, with camera shutter sounds clicking all around, creating a lively atmosphere.

Beyond the special session, this event continues to welcome friends from all over the country who enjoy flower yukata experiences and photography to share their works and participate in the photography contest. The submission period runs from September 5 to 24:00 on October 15 (for detailed rules, please visit the Facebook fan page: Xinbeitou Hot Springs). To comply with event regulations and ensure fairness in the photography contest, journalist friends participating in the "Photography Special Session" may not enter the contest under their media company name but may register under their personal name. We look forward to your personal creations that showcase the unique style and depth of Beitou's hot spring culture through your lens, allowing more people to discover the wonderful content of this event.

Furthermore, Chairperson Lin Chih-Yu of the Taipei Hot Spring Development Association announced that the "2024 Taipei Hot Spring Festival" will be held from October 30 (Wednesday) to November 3 (Sunday), 2024. These five days of activities run from 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, packed with exciting events. The association has also prepared various deals and promotions. Visitors are welcome to come to Xinbeitou Qixing Street and the Xinbeitou Station area to enjoy hot spring bathing, accommodation deals at exhibition stalls, specialty food stalls, creative arts and flower yukata rental shops, public charity events including blood donation and breast screening, limited Japanese mini tatami DIY registration activities, and nightly stage performances featuring "Nakashi Sing-Along," "Little Teresa Teng Chang Yu-Hsia and Wheelchair Ballroom Dancing," "Eastern Broadcasting YOYO Family Concert," "Ming Hwa Yuan Classic Opera," and "I Love Bing Bing Show," among others.

The association, adhering to its mission of continuous international exchange, has collaborated with Japan's Yamagata Prefecture this year to bring the "Yamagata Hanagasa Festival," one of the four major summer festivals of Japan's Tohoku region. This festival is held annually starting August 5 in Yamagata Prefecture for three days. Amid the chants of "Yassho, Makasho" and the powerful Hanagasa drum beats, over 10,000 dancers perform the Hanagasa Ondo dance while parading through the city's main streets. As the name suggests, dancers always wear sedge hats decorated with Yamagata's red prefectural flowers, dressed in colorful kimonos, dancing in unified formation with the hats undulating like waves, energizing the entire atmosphere! To bring the authentic lively and joyful atmosphere of the "Yamagata Hanagasa Festival" to Beitou, the Taipei Hot Spring Development Association has specially arranged three street parade events in the Beitou Guangming Road to Qixing Street section during the "2024 Taipei Hot Spring Festival": on 10/31 (Thursday) 2:00-2:30 PM, 11/2 (Saturday) 10:00-11:00 AM, and 11/3 (Sunday) 2:30-3:30 PM. Visitors are welcome to wear flower yukata and dance joyfully to the music! For detailed event information, please search for the Facebook fan page: Xinbeitou Hot Springs. Exciting events await - don't miss out!
