Taipei Senior EasyCard Gets an Upgrade
Available for Point Redemption at Beitou Public Hot Spring Pools Starting February 1 | Hot Spring Association Partners with 5 Businesses to Support Senior-Friendly Policies

To encourage seniors to go outdoors and cultivate a healthy recreational lifestyle, the Taipei City Government announced that starting February 1, 2025, the Taipei Senior EasyCard points can officially be used at public hot spring pool facilities in the Beitou area. This initiative was driven by the Taipei City Department of Social Welfare in partnership with local hot spring businesses, with five renowned hot spring hotel operators joining the first wave, demonstrating the Beitou hot spring industry's commitment to supporting senior-friendly policies.

The hot spring businesses joining the Senior EasyCard point redemption program include: Sweetme Hotspring Resort, Aqua Bella Hotel, Spring City Resort, Hotel Royal Beitou, and Silks Place Beitou. Starting February 1, eligible seniors holding a valid Taipei Senior EasyCard can use points to offset admission fees at the above operators' public pools, with a maximum deduction of 60 points per visit, allowing seniors to enjoy the therapeutic charm of Beitou hot springs in a more convenient and affordable way.

Director Yao Shu-Wen of the Taipei City Department of Social Welfare stated that the core spirit of senior-friendly policies is "easy to use, convenient to use." Through collaboration with local hot spring businesses, the Senior EasyCard can now be used in venues closer to seniors' daily lives, encouraging them to get out more and promote physical and mental health through hot spring bathing. She also warmly invites senior friends to bring their Senior EasyCard to visit Beitou for a great soak during the cold weather or the Lunar New Year holiday, experiencing the warmth and charm of Beitou hot springs.

Deputy Secretary-General Yu Chen-Hua of the Taipei City Government noted at the "Senior EasyCard Expanded Usage Launch Press Conference" that the original intention of the Senior EasyCard was to encourage elderly residents to go out more, utilizing public transportation to engage with the community. Opening the Senior EasyCard points for offsetting Beitou public hot spring pool fees allows seniors to easily enjoy hot spring bathing after arriving in Beitou via public transit, while promoting blood circulation and enhancing quality of life.
Medical professionals also remind seniors to carefully assess their health condition before bathing. The recommended bathing duration is no more than 10 minutes per session, with 2 to 5 minutes of rest in between. Please follow the safety guidelines posted by hot spring operators to safely and comfortably enjoy the relaxation and health benefits of hot springs.

The Taipei Hot Spring Development Association stated that Beitou hot springs are not only an important tourism asset for Taipei City but also a vital venue for promoting healthy recreation. In the future, the association will continue to work with city government policies, connecting more hot spring businesses to jointly promote a senior-friendly hot spring environment, making Beitou a hot spring city where seniors can bathe with peace of mind and all generations can share.
