Nostalgic Tavern Cuisine
Sweetme Food House presents a brand new look. Taiwan\'s fusion of diverse ethnic groups and cultures has blended and refined various cuisines - this is the traditional yet diverse character of Taiwanese cuisine. In the early days when ingredients were scarce, Taiwanese seeking fine dining or business entertaining would visit tavern restaurants. "Tavern cuisine" represents the starting point of Taiwan\'s food culture and the highest level of traditional Taiwanese cooking. Tavern cuisine carries Beitou\'s distinctive glamour as well as rustic traditional flavors. Amidst the changing atmosphere of the times, Head Chef Yeh Fu-Lai upholds the belief that cooking conveys happiness, hoping to let younger generations and international friends experience the elaborate banquet dishes of historic elites and the street food where common folk celebrated, savoring the refined essence of tavern cuisine for a new era.
Innovative Wine-Paired Dishes
Culinary cultural fusion transcends national borders. Great dishes deserve great drinks!
The name "Beitou" originated from the early Basay tribe, who believed that Thermal Valley steamed because of a witch\'s spell. The Basay word for witch, "PATAW," sounds similar to "Beitou" in Taiwanese, hence the name.
Tequila dates back to around 300 BC when Central American indigenous peoples fermented agave stem juice into "pulque" - originally an indispensable "drink of the gods" in religious rituals. After the 15th-century Spanish invasion, European distillation techniques were introduced to meet the demand for spirits, and from this cultural fusion, modern tequila was born.
This year, Sweetme Food House breaks the mold, creating a younger wine-dining experience. Traditional Beitou tavern cuisine paired with sipping tequila - an innovative wine-plus-food approach. Savor traditional tavern dishes while gently sipping tequila, letting the slightly intoxicating sensation enhance every flavor. At Sweetme Food House, experience the cultural fusion of wine and cuisine.
Ancient Eastern Wellness Wisdom: Tea Oil Cuisine
Tea oil, a folk remedy prized for thousands of years, requires a full year from tea tree cultivation to budding and fruiting, drawing earth\'s essence - it was even used in ancient imperial kitchens. Through Chairperson Chou Shui-Mei\'s dedication, this beautiful wellness essence is creatively transformed by Head Chef Yeh Fu-Lai\'s skilled hands into incomparable culinary creations, continuously shared with all.
