Shin Kong Donates 20,000 Mini Lanterns to Banqiao District for New Taipei Christmas City 5th Zone

The highly anticipated 2020 New Taipei Christmas City held its lighting ceremony today (Nov 13). This year's event is especially unique - the "Château de Chine Banqiao" all-age living ecosystem in the Xinban Special District will extend the charm of New Taipei Christmas City by creating the fifth major lantern zone.

The Château de Chine Christmas City features gold and red lighting installations connecting every corner inside and out, with plans for weekend Christmas markets, themed parties, and a series of exciting events. Shin Kong Life and Shin Kong Bank are also providing 20,000 Year of the Ox mini lanterns for public redemption - simply check in or spend a designated amount at Banqiao district stores to receive a free mini lantern at designated locations. The public is welcome to invite friends and family to shop, admire the lights, and celebrate Christmas together.

As autumn turns to winter, the pandemic situation is more severe than early in the year. Last year, New Taipei Christmas City set a new record of 6.18 million visitors. While welcoming crowds, maintaining social distance, frequent handwashing, and wearing masks remain the most important preventive measures. Therefore, on the 10th, Shin Kong Financial Holdings Chairman Hsu Peng and Shin Kong Life President Huang Min-Yi represented the company at a pandemic prevention promotional event at New Taipei City Government, inviting Taiwan Commercial District Tourism Development Federation Chairperson Chou Shui-Mei to jointly participate in the promotion.

Witnessed by New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-Yi and Tourism Bureau Director Chang Chi-Chiang, 20,000 mini ox lanterns wearing double-stamped masks were donated to the Banqiao commercial district. Through these adorable lanterns beloved by adults and children alike, the public is reminded to stay vigilant about pandemic prevention while sightseeing, while also driving the surrounding economy through commercial district partnerships, implementing local operations and safeguarding public health.
