On October 22-23, the annually acclaimed children\'s portable shrine parade and Beitou\'s most culturally representative Earth God procession will showcase Taiwan-Japan cultural exchange. The newly debuted Beitou hot spring mascot "Witch Doll" will appear alongside mascots from across Taiwan and Asia-Pacific hot spring regions including the Tourism Bureau\'s "Oh Bear," 2017 Taipei Universiade\'s "Bravo," Japan\'s Ehime Prefecture Matsuyama City\'s "Mikan Dog," Yamaguchi Prefecture Yuda Onsen, and Hamamatsu\'s "Ieyasu-kun." Plus the Wadaiko Raijin drummers from Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, creating a festive carnival parade. Expert-led in-depth Beitou tours and free hot spring shuttle buses are also available.
During the Taipei Hot Spring Festival, Beitou Plum Garden, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Thermal Valley, and Ketagalan Culture Center will extend hours to 6 PM on October 22-23. Except for the Hot Spring Museum, other venues will also specially open on Monday, October 24 (9 AM-5 PM). Visitors are welcome to explore Beitou\'s rich ecological, cultural, historical, and scenic tourism resources.
On October 22, Ming Hwa Yuan Taiwanese Opera performs the spectacular annual production "Wu Song Fights the Tiger." Five days of activities include 20 food stalls. Simply show the "Hot Spring Witch GO!" APP screen for deals like buy-1-get-1-free bathing and 58% off accommodations.
The October 12 press conference was opened by Pepper robot, declaring this year\'s festival combines smart tourism for a unique experience. Deputy Mayor Chen Ching-Chun stated that Beitou Hot Spring is a vital tourism asset for Taipei. Through years of government and community effort, Beitou has become a must-visit destination for tourists. The city continues to co-host the Taipei Hot Spring Festival to help more visitors experience Beitou\'s rich cultural history and beautiful landscapes.
